I wish I'd paid more attention to my boss when he was giving me these long, boring talks! He's an old fashioned, self made businessman. He doesn't know much about new management ideas, but maybe when he was talking, that was his way of 'coaching'' me. And I thought it was just boasting! Anyway, if I get promoted, I have to learn fast.
