Silent movies are completely unwatchable. I mean, with their over-the-top facial expressions and exaggerated gestures.

I admire the stars of the silent era. They have this theatrical acting method. The quality of some silent movies is surprisingly high. 'The General'' for example is just wonderful. It has one of the greatest chase scenes in movie history.
It's set almost entirely aboard moving trains.
It's the pace as well. Action holds my attention span. Car chases, that's a bonus. You know if there's no action then there's no 'me'' in the theatre. Watching movies, old movies, is just boring.
